2018 HS Speech Competition Photo: Attorneys Frank Bailey and Sach Oliver with 2018 High School Speech Competition Winners

Each spring, Bailey & Oliver Law Firm sponsors and hosts a speech competition for area high school students.  The law firm selects the topic and students prepare a four-to-six-minute supportive or opposition speech.  Students are limited to the use of one notecard during their speech.  A panel of judges selected from the community evaluates each speech based on content, thought leadership, and presentation.

Cash prizes are awarded to the top three students.

Our 2019 topic is "Should jury trials be televised?" Past topics have included:

  • Should the U.S. Constitution be rewritten and modernized?  Why or why not?
  • Do Pardons, Paroles, and Commutations Undermine the Judicial System?

To learn more about the competition call our office at (479) 202-5200.
